Quelina Jordan-Shaw receives $4,964 from Fund for Teachers to design her own learning experience.
Quelina Jordan-Shaw, a high school teacher at Cleveland Metropolitan Remote School, has been selected as a 2025 Fund for Teachers Fellow. She will receive a $4,964 grant to travel to Ghana this summer, where she will study how schools there teach career and entrepreneurship education.
Jordan-Shaw is one of 357 preK-12 teachers nationwide who earned a grant through Fund for Teachers. Together, these educators received $1.625 million to fund self-designed learning experiences across 79 countries and six continents.
“I‘m truly honored and thankful to Fund for Teachers and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for the chance to plan my own academic and cultural exchange tour of Ghana,” Jordan-Shaw said. “I’m excited to bring back new teaching ideas that will enrich my students’ learning and build lasting connections between classrooms in Cleveland and Ghana.”
Supporting Teacher-Led Growth
This marks the 25th year of Fund for Teachers grants. Since 2001, the nonprofit has invested more than $39 million in over 10,000 teachers nationwide.
The program provides educators with the freedom to choose what and where they want to learn, allowing them to return to their classrooms with fresh ideas that support student growth.
