Join us on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library located at: 10601 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH, for Black History in Focus: Bridging Past; Present; and Future. This inspiring event will celebrate the significant contributions of Black professionals in the medical field while fostering a meaningful dialogue about the environmental factors shaping health outcomes in Cleveland.
The evening will begin at 5:30 PM with doors opening, followed by a warm welcome and opening remarks at 6:00 PM. At 6:15 PM, our keynote speaker, Devon Jones, will deliver a presentation titled Pioneers in Healthcare, highlighting trailblazing Black individuals who have or currently work in the medical profession.
After a short dinner break at 6:45 PM, we’ll transition to a dynamic panel discussion, Black Health in Focus, featuring esteemed panelists. This conversation will explore the intersection of history, health, and the environmental factors affecting Cleveland’s Black communities. The event will conclude at 8:00 PM after a thoughtful wrap-up.
Presented by Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine’s Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, The Cleveland Observer, and the Cleveland Public Library, this event is a must-attend for those passionate about history, health equity, and community well-being.
