Cleveland’s own superhero, Superman, will be filming in Cleveland and Cincinnati this July.
Filming in Ohio allows for tax breaks and incentives for the company filming in the state, but Superman Clevelanders Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created it in 1933.
Shooting will be June 17 to July 16, and Angela-Bohem Casting has put out an official casting call for background actors (extras) and stand-ins.
Extras can expect $12 for eight hours guaranteed, but there is a chance of overtime as filming days may extend to 12 to 14 hours. Stand-ins, which are people used in the place of class members during camera and lighting adjustments. The pay is $13 for these individuals with the same eight hours guaranteed.
All must have flexibility, and stand-ins will work with the director and cast members, so interviews may be required.
This will be a fun time for the city of Cleveland, even if a bit hectic, but it is beneficial for the city’s arts programs.
The release date for this Superman film, currently titled ‘Genesis’, is set for the summer of 2025.
