Northeast Ohio residents eager to learn product management skills may get their chance thanks to an online bootcamp launching this summer at Cleveland State University.

CSU, in partnership with New York-based Fullstack Academy, will offer a 25-week course in product management skills beginning July 5. Applications are due by June 28. Applicants do not have to have a college degree to apply, and scholarships are available.

“The program offers cutting edge curriculum and technology inside a 25-week program. And you can still work which is nice to be able to balance work and personal life,” said Jerrad Tausz, CEO of Fullstack.

Coursework includes lessons in product lifecycles, planning, and market research. It aims to prepare employees who are looking to make a career change. Employees early in their careers who are looking to move into product management could also benefit, Tausz said.

Those who want to gain the professional skills they need for employment or to move up in an organization without enrolling in a full-time program might also find a good fit, said Colette T. Hart, senior director of outreach and engagement at CSU’s College of Business.

“We’re excited to add programs that are in high demand and create a workforce in Northeast Ohio,” CSU’s Hart said.

Project management is one of Fullstack’s newest offerings. The company has partnerships with 19 other universities nationwide. Other online courses include IT, coding, and cybersecurity.

Daniel Kempert participated in a web development bootcamp at CSU. “The course itself was a challenging, informative, educational, and fun journey that would push me to learn and explore the material and beyond. In the end, I ended up landing an internship and am still learning every day. I think that is something that Fullstack Academy prepares you for as well,” he said.
